Zoom Cash · Payday loans & cash advance
Payday loans for a short-term cash gap
A cash advance creates a near-term repayment date. Work out the full amount due, compare it with your next income and start your request with the repayment in view.
- A request for a specific short-term expense
- A clear view of the total due on payday
- An online application with written terms to review
Check the amount received after any deductions.
Review the payment, term and any final balance.
Compare APR, fees and the total of payments.
Work with the numbers
Turn a quoted fee into an amount due
Enter your own quoted fee and days to repayment. The extra-fee field illustrates repeated charges; it does not mean that a lender or state allows extensions.
Calculations stay in your browser. No figures are submitted or saved. This tool is an illustration, not an approval, recommendation or loan quote.
Identify the product first
Cash advance does not always mean the same agreement
| Label | The agreement to identify | The cost or repayment question |
|---|---|---|
| Payday cash advance | A short-term loan with a stated repayment date | What total amount, including charges, is due on that date? |
| Credit-line draw | A draw against an available account limit | What draw and balance charges apply, and what restores the limit? |
| Credit-card cash advance | A card transaction under card-account terms | What advance fee and interest terms apply? |
| Pay or wage advance | A separate advance arrangement | What fees, tips, subscriptions, collection method and provider terms apply? |
The product information and calculator on this page concern a payday-style loan. They do not describe a card, wage-advance app or every form of credit-line draw.
Understand repayment
A check or bank authorization can collect the payment
A payday agreement may use a check or authorization to debit an account. Read the amount, collection date and payment method carefully. Confirm how to make a manual payment, where to obtain a receipt and how to contact the servicer about a problem.
The money left after repayment still needs to cover housing, food, utilities and other obligations. If another advance would be needed immediately, the single payment has not solved the underlying shortfall.
Repeated fees
An extension fee and a repayment plan are different
Paying another fee
In a fee-only extension illustration, the principal does not shrink. Repeated fees can grow the cost while leaving the original borrowed amount unpaid. The calculator shows this arithmetic without implying an extension is available or lawful.
Arranging repayment
Ask the lender what payment-plan or hardship options actually exist under the agreement and applicable rules. Availability and charges vary. A request for more time is not itself an approved change of the due date.
Consider the alternative task
Could the expense be handled without this repayment deadline?
Before taking short-term credit, ask whether the biller can change a due date or arrange payments, whether an employer offers an advance and whether a bank or credit union has a suitable small-dollar product. Compare actual eligibility, fees and timing for any alternative; its label alone does not establish that it is cheaper.
Alternatives to payday loans
Compare the cash deadline and what is due next
| Option to investigate | Cash and timing questions | Repayment / cost check |
|---|---|---|
| Biller payment arrangement | Can the due date move or the bill be split? Get written confirmation before relying on it. | Ask about fees and every revised due date. The debt still exists. |
| Bank or credit-union small-dollar loan | Check account or membership requirements and when proceeds can actually arrive. | Compare APR, dollar cost and payment schedule with the payday offer. |
| Federal credit-union PAL | Ask whether the institution offers a payday alternative loan and which version. | Membership, amounts, terms and fees depend on the program; availability is not automatic. |
| Employer advance | Ask payroll whether an advance is available and how much of the next paycheck it uses. | Check fees and the reduced take-home pay before the next rent or utility bill. |
| Local assistance | Ask about eligibility, documents and whether funds go directly to the biller. | A pending request is not confirmed help; do not budget it as cash already received. |
| Installment borrowing | Compare net proceeds, total payments and the term using a written quote. | A lower payment can stretch the debt and increase the total paid. |
A repayment-day stress test
Would another advance be needed after the first one?
Illustrative payday budget
Suppose a paycheck is $1,300, essential bills before the following payday are $900, and a $300 advance has a $45 fee. Repayment is $345, leaving $55 after those bills. An additional $100 necessary expense would create a $45 shortfall.
Use your own dates and amounts
- Start with reliable take-home income on the repayment date.
- Subtract the entire loan payment.
- Subtract essentials until the next reliable income date.
- If the remainder is negative, revisit the bill arrangement or amount before accepting the loan.
The figures above are arithmetic examples, not Zoom Cash pricing or an affordability threshold. The emergency loan details helps distinguish a payment deadline from a funding claim.
Bad credit and online applications
Check the offer rather than the approval headline
A search for payday loans with bad credit does not establish approval, a particular credit inquiry or state availability. Before consenting, ask who reviews the request, what information is checked, whether an inquiry affects your credit report and when verification is complete. Keep the legal lender’s name and written cost disclosure.
A claim of “instant approval” also does not answer when money becomes usable. Review, signing, release and bank posting are separate steps. Avoid paying an advance fee to an unverified party in exchange for a guaranteed loan.
Choosing an alternative
Questions to resolve before replacing one obligation with another
Is a payday alternative loan available at every credit union?
No. Ask the actual institution whether it offers a PAL or another small-dollar product, which membership and eligibility conditions apply, and when funds would be available. A similar product name on a lender’s website does not make it a federal credit-union PAL.
Is a wage-advance app the same as a free payroll advance?
No. Identify the provider and include subscriptions, expedited-transfer charges and any optional payments in your comparison. Ask how collection affects the next paycheck. Do not assume a different label removes the repayment pressure.
Should I replace a payday loan with a longer loan?
Compare the actual remaining payday obligation with the new loan’s net proceeds, total repayment, fees and schedule. More time may help the calendar while increasing the cost; the debt-consolidation page explains a like-for-like comparison.
Where can I look for help paying rent instead?
Start with the landlord’s written payment options and official local assistance routes. The rent loan page separates assistance, split-rent services and borrowing.

Already having trouble?
Contact the provider before the due date
Use the legal lender or servicer on your agreement. Ask about the payment options, any automatic debit and written confirmation of changes. Keep the agreement, payment records and messages. For a financial-product complaint, the CFPB complaint portal is an official reporting route, not a payment-plan approval service.
Payday questions
The questions behind a small-dollar amount
Does the annualized fee rate equal a lender’s disclosed APR?
Not necessarily. This tool divides the entered fee by the principal and annualizes it over the entered days. Additional charges and timing details can affect a legally disclosed APR.
Does paying an extension fee reduce what I borrowed?
Not in the fee-only illustration shown here. The original principal remains due. Actual extension and payment-plan rules must be checked for the product and state.
Can this page promise a no-credit-check or same-day loan?
No. The underlying provider, review process, agreement and payment system determine those details. They are not established by the Zoom Cash product description.
What did Zoom Cash publish about payday loans?
The 2015 homepage described $50–$500, a check and repayment on the next payday. Current product availability, charges and collection terms are not established by that description.
Where can I compare the other repayment structures?
Read the loan comparison for reusable credit and installment repayment, or use the installment payment calculator to understand a longer schedule.
